Four-Day Culinary Event Marks Start of Stone Crab Season The South Beach Seafood Festival returns October 21–24 to Miami Beach, drawing more than 16,000 attendees for chef competitions, collaborative dinners, and beachfront tastings. Sponsored by Tequila Herradura and Jack Daniel's and presented by GOYA Foods, the 14th annual event marks the official kickoff to Florida's stone crab season and Miami's hospitality season.

Opening Night Honors Culinary Pioneers The festival opens Wednesday, October 21, with Made in Miami, an exclusive dinner at Phuc Yea honoring chefs who shaped South Florida's dining scene. Chef Cesar Zapata, Chef Jose Mendin, and GOYA's Chef Fernando Desa will host six influential culinary leaders for a one-night collaborative experience. "What makes this festival special is the community it represents," said Valerie Roy, Director of Marketing and Client Strategy at CI Management. "From the chefs who have spent years building the foundation of South Florida's culinary scene to the rising talents that are just starting to make their mark, the South Beach Seafood Festival is where you can find them together in one place." Thursday's programming continues with An Evening in Miami Beach, featuring collaborative dinners at celebrated restaurants including Rao's Miami Beach, paired with premium wines and handcrafted cocktails.

Chef Showdown and Bartender Battles Friday, October 23, brings the Tequila Herradura VIP Chef Showdown.

Twenty chefs will compete across ten head-to-head seafood battles in categories including Taco, Crab, Sushi, Surf N' Turf, Salmon, Shrimp, Ceviche, Seafood Pasta, Tuna, and Mystery Battle. Guests sample dishes at each restaurant's Battle Pavilion and vote for winners. The Jack Daniel's Live Stage features live judging by culinary industry leaders and media. Two bartender showdowns complement the chef competitions. The Pacifico Beer Bartender Showdown offers $1,000 to the winner, while the Tequila Herradura Bartender Showdown awards $500 for the best innovative cocktail after a live mystery ingredient challenge.

Seafood Slam Closes Festival The festival culminates Saturday, October 24, with the Seafood Slam at Lummus Park from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. More than 40 South Florida restaurants offer unlimited food and beverage tastings in multiple seafood zones. Guests vote for Best of the Fest, with winners announced at the event. Programming includes culinary demos from Milam's Culinary Kitchen and a Home Chef Competition. General admission is $160 for all-inclusive tastings; children 10 and under are free.

Ticket Pricing and Multi-Day Options VIP Chef Showdown tickets are $175. A multi-day festival package with Loews Miami Beach accommodations includes a two-day VIP weekend pass for Friday and Saturday for $1,150. Tickets are available at sobeseafoodfest.com.

Supporting Local Youth Programs The festival supports CI Foundation's EAT SMART program, a nonprofit providing healthy meals and nutritional guidance to Florida's youth through Miami-Dade County public school programs. A portion of festival proceeds benefits the initiative. The festival has been recognized by USA Today as a "Top 5 Specialty Festival in the Country," by Forbes among the "Top 5 Things to Do This Fall," and by the Travel Channel as "Best Seafood Festival in the U.S."

Why It Matters

For Miami-area hospitality operators and chefs, the South Beach Seafood Festival serves as both a marketing platform and networking hub at the critical moment when the region's peak season begins. The event's emphasis on honoring culinary pioneers while platforming emerging talent underscores how established restaurant groups and independent operators compete for consumer attention in an increasingly crowded Miami dining market.
